RFP - General Contractor for Station Remodel

The Evans Fire Protection District, a political subdivision of the State of Colorado, has revised its Request for Proposal from qualified firms to serve as the Construction Manager/General Contractor in the remodel and expansion of the District's Fire Station #2, located at 2100 37th Street, Evans, CO 80620 (RFP).  A summary of the revisions to the RFP are as follows:

All documents referenced in the RFP as being available for review prior to submitting a proposal in response to the RFP are available on the Fire District's website at www.evansfiredistrict.org in addition to its offices located at 1100 37th Street, Evans, CO 80620.

The requirement for bidders to attend a mandatory pre-bid meeting has been deleted. The form of contract to be awarded has been changed from a modified AIA A133 (2009) and modified AIA A201 (2007) to an Owner-Contractor Agreement.  The form of Owner-Contractor Agreement is available at 1100 37th Street, Evans, CO 80620 or on the Fire District's website at www.evansfiredistrict.org for review prior to submitting a proposal in response to this RFP. The deadline for submitting questions and substitution requests has been extended to February 17, 2017.

Response to the RFP, as revised, is required by 4 pm (MST) on February 22, 2017 ("Submission Deadline").  A proposal received after the Submission Deadline will not be considered. Telephone, email or facsimile proposals will not be accepted. Contractors responding to the RFP do so solely at their own expense. Copies of the Request for Proposals are presently available at:

The District reserves the right to reject any and all proposals.  The District's acceptance of a proposal is conditioned upon the parties executing a mutual acceptable Owner-Contractor Agreement with a Guaranteed Maximum Price, which shall, among other things, include a delay damages provision to ensure timely completion of the project, which is essential to the District's provision of emergency services to its community.  The successful firm will be required to furnish a Performance and Payment Bond in an amount equal to 100% of the Guaranteed Maximum Price for the project, with a corporate surety approved by the District and licensed to do business in the State of Colorado.
